Tepsi is a café on St Albans Road in Watford that strikes a nice balance between relaxed weekday calm and vibrant weekend energy. Its standout feature is the coffee—locally recognized as the go-to spot for decent brews along the street, with offerings like a strong Long Black and rich cappuccinos that clearly earn their praise.

Inside, the atmosphere is cozy and a little eclectic, mixing quirky decor with a welcoming, community-oriented vibe. It’s the sort of place where you might find yourself lingering with a book from the shelves or catching up with friends over a leisurely brunch. The café is also practical for families, providing toys and books, which keeps it comfortable and low-key for those with little ones.

The menu has a thoughtful, fresh approach to brunch items such as granola and avocado toast, often praised for its balanced flavours and satisfying portions. For those who appreciate a casual but carefully crafted meal, Tepsi fits well into a weekday ritual—quiet enough for a peaceful solo coffee or a romantic meal, while weekends naturally bring a livelier crowd looking to soak up the buzz.

Tepsi's owner brings a warm, enthusiastic yet unintrusive energy, particularly when sharing the café's Turkish culinary influences, which adds a distinctive local flavor to the experience not often found elsewhere in Watford. Whether you are popping in for an early coffee, a relaxed brunch, or a longer catch-up session, this café welcomes a diverse mix of locals who appreciate both its modest prices and its long opening hours.

Overall, Tepsi works best for those who value good coffee and a menu with fresh, thoughtfully combined ingredients, all served in an inviting space that adapts smoothly from quiet weekday mornings to bustling weekend hangouts.

Quiet during the week and busy on weekends. Friendly service with a smile. The coffee was delicious and reasonable priced and the only shop on the street to do decent coffee. For a quiet romantic meal I'd go during the week and your almost guaranteed a table.

What to start with! I was blown away by the quality of food. I quite literally have no words. Everything was very fresh and tasty and filling. We ordered the Turk and the Champion and absolutely everything on the plate was a pleasure to eat. The chef put so much passion into it and I felt it. The atmosphere inside Tepsi is so cozy and comforting. They accomodate children and have toys and books! Love that! The music is so lovely and carefully chosen to create the cozy atmosphere. Loved being here for breakfast, will be coming back for the lunch options. I feel like this place is so underrated and should be supported by the community more. We need small businesses like this, healthy and special food is hard to come by in restaurants these days. From a foodie, thank you for the food and experience.

I was thrilled to see this new independent cafe open in north Watford. The decor is great - quirky and inviting. The coffee and pastries both delicious and the owner of friendly and so enthusiastic about sharing his Turkish cuisine. (But he is absolutely not intrusive) It’s a great place for a catch up with friends, is open long hours which is so handy and we should always support independent businesses! I can highly recommend the baklava and Turkish apple pastries (made on the premises) Also the toilet is very clean !

Lovely secret place on St Alban's, could be in Brooklyn or Hackney or cool Istanbul. An endless selection of flavours and options whether you want brunch or pizza or crique Monsieur. And very special tea served looseleafed in a glass teapot. And very special artisanal coffee par excellence of course. Watch out London, Tepsi is in Watford!

Such a lovely and cosy cafe and a great addition to St Albans Rd. I had the Avocado with Sumac, Olive Oil and Greens and absolutely loved it. The chocolate croissant was also very tasty. Flavours were so perfectly balanced I will need to go back soon and have it again. Everything seems very reasonably priced. Owner was super friendly to talk to and the atmosphere is very inviting. Lots of books and toys for young kids making it a great family friendly spot. Update: visited again and tried the rainbow smoothie and banana peanut butter shake. Tasted very good. Drinks took a little longer to arrive than had hoped but taste was great and staff were super friendly.

We really enjoyed having brunch/lunch here, a fab addition to St Albans Rd. All food is freshly prepared and incredibly tasty. There's a real attention to detail when it comes to produce, the dough used for the bases of the pide was made in napoli and the honey served with the nuts was delicious. There were lots of dips to try which were homemade. The owner is friendly without being overbearing and he's passionate about what he does, you can tell lots of love goes into creating the dishes. The coffee is also really nice and good quality. My children approved of the pastries and they got gifted some fresh fruit kebabs which they really enjoyed. The prices are also really reasonable and portion sizes are very generous. We'll definitely be back soon and would recommend to anyone passing by

Lovely little cafe, had many drink and food options. I went in for a drink and chose the banana and Peanut butter milkshake, it was the perfect drink for a warm day. The atmosphere inside the cafe was perfect, with the some really nice decor. However the service for two drinks did take a while, but it was worth the wait.
